Weekly Pregnancy/Baby Update
6 months – Congrats mama, you are at the 6 month mark! By now you may have gained around 15 lbs (don’t fret though – this is different for everyone!) and the baby is measuring over a foot long!
Yoga Posture
Four limbed staff pose – Chaturanga Dandasana
This power posture used in most vinyasa transitions is still available to your during pregnancy! Modify by lower the knees or taking table top instead, but feel free to practice the full expression as well.
Recommended Yoga Class
Since you’re here, I’ll go ahead an assume you are in some type of rough patch in your pregnancy. Which is OK! This is why I am here – why we are all here – to help each other through this time!
Pregnancy is no cake walk, we know this. Your body is changing, and hurting. The hormones make you feel all sorts of ways – crazy, sad, anxious, and more. There’s fear of the new journey ahead. And while this is all part of the path, some days it can just be overwhelming to be in this experience.
The particular day I filmed this class, I was planning to film something else completely. But I was so anxious and exhausted, that I could do was breathe! My husband (God bless him!) encouraged me to film anyway, but film what was authentic. And here it is – some pranayama to soothe the nervous system on a bad day!
*I am constantly updating recommended classes as I add more yoga classes to my YouTube library! Check back often for updates!
**Every body, woman, practice, and pregnancy is different. If the suggested class for this week does not suit you this week for any reason, please feel free to look for a different one on my YouTube channel. Trust your body and listen to your birth team!
Journal Prompts
Birth takes preparation. Depending on your birth plan, what daily disciplines are you willing to do in order to have the birth you want? What hard questions are you willing to ask? What hard work are you willing to perform?
Please feel free to share your responses below, so we can all help each other on this journey!
