Weekly Pregnancy/Baby Update
Baby is around 2 lbs. For you, almost to your third trimester, you may be experiencing “pregnancy brain”. Women actually lose some gray matter during pregnancy, causing permanent shifts in how their brain works!
Yoga Posture
Downward dog (modified) – Urdhva Mukha Svanasana
Downward dog may not be accessible later in pregnancy, or on high nausea or heartburn days. Modify by bringing the knees down and the arms out in front for a lesser inversion.
Recommended Yoga Class
So much is going on in our body during pregnancy. We don’t want this to get in the way of life of course – or our yoga practice! One of my aims here on this channel is to offer as many types of yoga as possible so that every pregnant person finds a class that suits their needs! So this class is for those suffering with pregnancy carpal tunnel, edema of the wrists (swelling), or general pain and achiness in the wrists and arms. We don’t need to shy away from our yoga practice if something is feeling off one day, we just need to adapt! This will be great practice for parenting!! This class is all standing postures, giving our arms, wrists, hands a break! We will have blocks for stability if you want to use them, listen to your body, but they are not necessary. Focus on your legs, the strength they provide and the grounding they bring.
*I am constantly updating recommended classes as I add more yoga classes to my YouTube library! Check back often for updates!
**Every body, woman, practice, and pregnancy is different. If the suggested class for this week does not suit you this week for any reason, please feel free to look for a different one on my YouTube channel. Trust your body and listen to your birth team!
